The Italian Connection

Being one of the largest and most vibrant communities in Canada, it shouldn't come as a surprise that many Italian-Canadians have taken up the country's national pastime on ice.

Among them is Laura Fortino, a two-time Olympian credited with the gold medal winning assist to Marie-Philip Poulin to give Canada Olympic gold in 2014. Fortino now represents her the country of her roots, giving some Olympic champion experience to an Italian national team aiming to do much more than just make an appearance at Milano Cortina 2026.
